Getting started
How long does it take to get my report?
Minutes, not days. Upload your payslips and get your result in the same session — no queue, no human reviewer to wait on.
What files do I need to send?
A payroll export (Xero, MYOB, or similar) and timesheets covering the last 12 months — CSV, PDF, spreadsheet or a clear photo. If your export looks nothing like this, send it anyway.
I'm not an accountant — will I actually understand the report?
Yes. Every finding is written in plain English: what's wrong, which payslip, and exactly what to fix, grouped under “What you need to do now.”
Do I need to make an account?
No. The free check runs without an account or login — you only need an email address to receive your result and, later, your full report.
Scope & accuracy
What exactly do you check, and what don't you?
Base rates, weekend and public holiday penalties, casual loading, evening/night work loading, overtime (casual and permanent), junior rates by age (including the junior/liquor-service adult-rate rule), tool and first aid allowance, and the equivalent super shortfall. Not yet covered: other allowances (meal, laundry, leading hand), apprentice rates, annualised salaries, state-by-state public holiday calendars, or enterprise agreements — see our Terms for the full list. If those apply heavily to you, your real exposure is likely higher than reported, not lower.
My bookkeeper already handles our payroll — isn't this redundant?
Your bookkeeper processes payroll; interpreting whether it matches the Award is a different job, and most bookkeeping software says so itself. This is the check that sits on top of normal processing.
We pay above the award minimum, so we're fine — right?
Not necessarily — the most common assumption behind real underpayment cases. A flat rate that clears the weekday minimum can still fall short once Saturday, Sunday, public holiday or casual loading are added.
What if my business is covered by an enterprise agreement (EBA) instead of the Award?
Then this tool isn't the right fit, and we say so rather than taking your upload anyway. Every EBA is negotiated individually, so a single automated engine can't check it against a general Award rate table.
Can I check more than one Award — hospitality and restaurant — for the same business?
Yes, run them as separate checks. The engine applies one Award's rate table per check, since a single employee is covered by one or the other, not both.
Pricing
If I find a discrepancy, what do I actually risk?
Up to 3× the underpayment amount in civil penalties, on top of back-pay, with claims reaching six years back. Your report shows you exactly what to fix first.
What if I'd honestly rather not know?
The gap, if one exists, is already real whether you look or not. Finding and voluntarily disclosing an issue is treated very differently to having it found in an investigation — and is specifically what protects small employers under the current law.
How is the price for the full report actually calculated?
From the scale of what's found — not a flat fee charged regardless of outcome. You see the exact figure before you pay anything, and you're never charged just to run the check.
Is this a subscription?
No. The report is a one-off. An optional ongoing-monitoring upgrade is offered afterwards for businesses that want their payroll re-checked automatically whenever Award rates change, but it's never bundled in by default.
Data & privacy
Is my data actually confidential?
Yes. Encrypted in transit, processed on infrastructure hosted in Australia (AWS), never shared or sold, deleted within 30 days regardless of whether you unlock the full report. No account, no tax file numbers, no contact with your staff.
Why does it matter that the data is hosted in Australia?
Payroll data for Australian employees never needs to leave Australian jurisdiction to be processed, and with us, it doesn't — the AWS infrastructure we run on is Australian-region infrastructure.
Do you ever use my data to train a model?
No. Your documents are used once, to produce your result, and then deleted on the 30-day schedule — never retained for training or any other purpose.
After your report
After I get my report, what do I actually do next?
The report lists every issue with the specific correction needed, grouped by what to fix now versus confirm or clarify — most of it is actionable the same day.
Does the report count as legal proof in a dispute?
It's a factual, documented analysis you can act on and show a professional — not a certification and not legal advice. For remediation or a dispute, use it as the starting point with a qualified adviser, not as a substitute for one.
Can I run the same business through again after I've fixed the issues?
Yes — there's nothing stopping you running a fresh check on updated payroll data to confirm a fix worked, the same way you ran the first one.
